Despite signposting the #31July2020 demonstrations as peaceful, the Harare Post has been reliably informed that the chief organiser of the protests, Jacob Ngarivhume, working in cahoots with some Civil Society Organisations are planning to unleash a series of terroristic attacks.
A leaked audio recording of a secret meeting held by Ngarivhume in the capital on 12 July 2020, showed that the intended demonstrations are not about corruption as purported by the organisers, but a means to effect regime change in Zimbabwe.
The meeting chaired by Ngarivhume, which was also attended by leader of Front for Economic Emancipation Zimbabwe (FEEZ), Godfrey Tsenengamu, leader of #Tajamuka/Isijikile Promise Mkwananzi, a representative from Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition, and Peter Mutasa, the president of Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Union (ZCTU) and six other people, discussed on the means to carry out sabotage acts against the Government and other vital installations.
According to the leaked audio, Ngarivhume told the attendees that #31 July2020 is “Freedom Day” for Zimbabwe as the Government of President Mnangagwa will be dethroned through a popular uprising.
Ngarivhume was heard in the leaked audio saying, “Our target is (President) Mnangagwa. We must identify all businesses and properties linked to him so that we could destroy them. We need to petrol bomb properties such as Zuva Service Stations, and any other business that is linked to (President) Mnangagwa,” Ngarivhume is heard saying.
Ngarivhume also cited Kudakwashe Tagwirei’s business premises, police stations, Angel of Hope offices, toll gates and ZANU Headquarters as other targets that should be petrol bombed.
“Tagwirei (Kudakwashe) is the benefactor of this regime, we must also bring him down. We need also to devise plans to destroy police stations, Mnangagwa’s Angel of Hope offices, toll gates and ZANU PF HQ so that (President) Mnangagwa will have nowhere to hide. We have guys who are in the process of manufacturing petrol bombs and other explosives,” said Ngarivhume.
Ngarivhume also said that the #31July2020 demonstrations are being financially supported by many organisations and individuals such as the US Embassy and one Mai Senator from Chitungwiza.
“Tell your people not to hesitate because they will be paid handsomely for participating in these demonstrations. US Embassy irikudira mari (the US Embassy is handsomely funding the demonstrations). We have other individuals like Mai Senator in Chitungwiza who have promised us more than US$20 000. More donors are coming in to sponsor the event,” Ngarivhume said.
Ngarivhume also took a swipe at some opposition leaders whom he could not mention for positioning themselves for life after the demo.
“Pane vamwe vakutogovana nyama yenhoro ichiri kufamba. (There are people who are already thinking of the future). Some are saying that I want to be the president, while others are saying this one should be the Prime Minister. The other one is saying this one should be the Minister of this.
“We don’t want such people. Our focus now is to remove ZANU PF from power. We will then talk of Government posts after dethroning this regime. For now, the church must ready itself to put in place a national transitional authority.” said Ngarivhume.
Political analyst, Panganai Kanyemba said it is now clear that the intended demonstrations are not about corruption, but a means to cause anarchy, looting and lawlessness in the country.
Kanyemba further said that the threat to burn and destroy vital installations and other properties is a sign that the organisers of the #31July2020 are now morphing into a notorious terrorist movement such as the Boko Haram and ISIS.
Kanyemba went further to say that these demonic acts of sabotage have no room in Zimbabwe and he urged the Police to arrest all those who cause chaos in the country.
