Minister of Finance and Economic Development has urged youths to have emotional intelligence (being aware of your surroundings), where they could place themselves in places where they could be assisted to prosper.
Prof Ncube said this at the inaugural two-day national Youth Indaba running under the theme, ‘our future is today.’ The Indaba is being attended by youths from all the province is being co-ordinated by the Ministry of Sports, Arts and Recreation.
Speaking at the indaba, Professor Ncube revealed that he was passionate about the youths. He highlighted some of his achievements. He said he had so far written 14 books and that he started his own company at a tender age of 23years called Signal Consultancy.
Minister Ncube went on to say that there is need to launch more entrepreneurship incubators. He said that Government supported those who run incubation adding that government was ready to make the incubators more effective. He gave out that in that system, there are angel investors to support entrepreneurs.
Minister Ncube said the sooner Zimbabwe ran Venture Funds the better. He said that Government will announce every month the province that will get funding and that the first to be announced will be Mashonaland Central. He said these funds would be given to Provincial leadership and Government will ensure that the funds are used for projects and not abused.
He also promised that in the next budget, the Ministry of Sports, Arts and Recreation’s budgetary allocation will be reviewed up.
Minister of Sport, Art and Recreation, Kirsty Coventry confirmed that President Emmerson Mnangagwa will interface with the youth today, at the second and last day of the Youth Indaba as he listens to the youths’ grievances and solutions. The youths are expected among other issues to talk about job creation.
President Mnangagwa is always saying that he is a listening President whose doors are always open. These youths have taken advantage of this opportunity and of course President Mnangagwa has his arms wide open for these youths since they are the leaders of tomorrow.
