President Mnangagwa, who is also the Commander-In-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defense Forces, (ZDF) today, (14 August 2018), praised the uniformed forces for their sterling efforts in civil-military engagements at home and broad. The President was speaking at the National Sports Stadium in Harare to mark the 38th anniversary of the Zimbabwe Defense Forces.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said that Government is spearheading the programme of developing war Heritage Museums across the country.  Speaking today at the 38th Zimbabwe National Heroes Day Celebrations, President Mangagwa said it is high time those museums are built across the country in memory of the gallant sons and daughters who died for the liberation of the country.

Following MDC Alliance (MDC-A) leader Nelson Chamisa’s court application on Friday 10 August 2018, at the Constitutional Court, which led to the cancelation of President-elect Cde ED Mnangagwa’s inauguration, there has been a lot of talk and speculation about the issue, with some MDC Alliance members saying that Chamisa should accept the Presidential election result as pronounced by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) and allow the country to move on and rebuild.
