A survey by Pan African Forum Limited of Kenya has shown that President Emmerson Mnangagwa enjoys 75% of popularity ahead of Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa who is trailing him with 19%.
According to the survey, 3110 respondents took part in the study, 98% of whom indicated that they will certainly vote in the upcoming Harmonized General Elections.
Part of the study reads, “On party choices, the study shows that 69% of respondents support ZANU PF while 27% are loyal to the CCC.
“Looking at gender, ZANU PF has more female supporters as compared to males. CCC had more male supporters as compared to females.”
Top of the respondents’ major issues they wanted addressed by the President is unemployment which sits at 60%, poverty 50%, housing 43%, poor roads 23%, land disputes 19%, health care 18, youth empowerment 10% and electricity 5%.
Electoral victory for President Mnangagwa continues to be projected ahead of the 2023 general elections. Pan African Forum Limited poll survey comes after Flitch Solutions’ prediction of a clean ZANU PF victory in February 2023.
Meanwhile, the state of affairs at CCC serve to reinforce the predictions, as that party continues to grapple with internal divisions owing to the criteria that party’s leadership has chosen to select its candidates for the polls. Chamisa is on record proclaiming that there would be no elective congress for that party as per tradition.
