A Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) member, Wonder Mutashu last week unleashed violence in Magunje, Mashonaland West Province disrupting the Pfumvudza inputs distribution meeting.
A source who spoke to this publication said that a visibly drunk Mutashu gate crashed the meeting and started accusing ZANU PF Ward 12 Councillor, Chris Mudengezerwa of omitting his name on the list of beneficiaries.
Councillor Mudengezerwa tried to explain to Mutashu that the Pfumvudza inputs were still coming and every member of that Ward was going to benefit.
The source said Mutashu vacated the meeting and only came back armed with a machete threatening to kill people at the meeting.
“After his interaction with Councillor Mudengezerwa, Mutashu went to his house and came back armed with a machete threatening to kill people at the meeting. People had to run for their dear lives as Mutashu was advancing with the intent to kill. Some women were injured during the melee. Mutashu was later disempowered by some courageous men but not before he has attacked three people with his machete,” said the source.
The source added that the mob later meted out instant justice on Mutashu before Councillor Mudengezerwa urged people to stop assaulting him.
According to the source, another CCC member, Bonface Mbondo unleashed violence again at Nabs farm in Hurungwe demanding to be the first beneficiary of the Pfumvudza inputs.
The source said that Mbondo demanded that he be served first as he had other pressing issues to attend to. When he was told to be patient and wait for his turn, he became violent and started pelting stones at the people who had gathered for the Pfumvudza inputs distribution exercise.
Meanwhile, some sections of the media have twisted the narratives as they are accusing ZANU PF members of attacking CCC members. The same hostile media are further falsely accusing ZANU PF Councillors of snubbing CCC members in the Pfumvudza inputs distribution exercise.
