Cabinet recently approved the Integrated ICT Strategy for the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, in order to integrate the Ministry’s Departments. This was revealed by the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Minister Kazembe Kazembe during his tour of Masvingo Province.
In his speech Minister Kazembe said, “ May I reiterate that under the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA) Programmes and Outcomes, your combined efforts should be directed towards enhancing service delivery, improved and coordinated development of infrastructure, frameworks, products and services in arts, culture and heritage, as well as improved social cohesion…..
“…. The Government under the astute leadership of President Dr ED Mnangagwa, is doing it utmost to ensure that the lives of the citizenry are transformed. Our contribution towards this goal is marked by the recent approval by Cabinet, of the Ministry’s Integrated ICT Strategy, which seeks to automate our Departments and to realise intra and inter-departmental integration with other critical stakeholders in Government.
“In line thereof, your Departments are expected to acquire capabilities to provide online services, such as birth, death and passport applications; Border Management System and develop and Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS),’ said Minister Kazembe.
Minister Kazembe further reminded his Ministry Departments that the President is himself online checking on Government performances and progress toward the attainment of and empowered and prosperous Upper Middle Income Society by the year 2030.
“Let me further remind you that Government, in its wisdom introduced the Executive Electronic Dashboard (EED) and the whold Government Performance Planning System, which is an online platfor that enables His Excellency, the President, at the click of a button, to view the progress made in the implementation of various policies, strategies, programmes and projects that we would have set ourselves to achieve,” said Minister Kazembe.
Finally he castigated the perpetuation of the scourge of corruption that has gripped the nation not sparing his Departments, Police, Civil Registry, and Immigration Departments, warning the drivers of corruption that the long arm of the law will soon catch up with them.
Minister Kazembe Kazembe visited Masvingo Civil Registry Offices, Immigration Department , the National Archives of Zimbabwe and the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe during his tour of Masvingo province.
