Chamisa will lose 2023 elections: Mashakada

MDC-T Treasurer General, Tapiwa Mashakada, has boldly claimed that the embattled MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa and his political formation will lose the forth-coming 2023 elections because they are clueless and still embroiled in student politics.

Mashakada said his party is perpetuating the late Morgan Tsvangirai legacy, while Chamisa is fighting to destroy the same legacy.

“People believe in MDC-T because we are perpetuating Morgan Tsvangirai legacy and not destroying it like the Chamisa Chete Chete (CCC) crew. We are driven by policies, values, principles and our social democratic ethos. We are fighting for a better life for all. For jobs, social protection, health, human rights, you name it. CCCs are fighting MDC-T. When we respond, they call us ZANU PF lite and abuse us. This is infantile mentality,” said Mashakada.

Mashakada added that Chamisa will fall by the wayside in 2023, because of his arrogance and lack of political strategy.

“They (MDC A) are mostly born frees who think Facebook is all about fun and vulgar language. We are the mature party that respects divergent views. The fact of the matter is that CCC will lose the 2023 elections. Their pride and big brother mentality will bury them come 2023. I said the same about Bobi Wine and I was ridiculed. The solution to Zimbabwean challenges is dialogue and reforms not Chamisa’s childish politics,” added Mashakada.

According to Mashakada, the MDC Alliance has no political strategy and it cannot be a political alternative for Zimbabweans.

“The MDC Alliance has no plan or agenda. They are now irrelevant in the national political discourse. Whereas MDC-T is now a national player. We are driven by issues and agendas not stupid rhetoric. We are mature politicians. We are fighting for the people not fighting individuals. We are the party for the future and our agenda appeals to the youth of Zimbabwe. CCC Facebook zealots are mad at us which means we are for real,” said Mashakada.

The MDC Alliance is embroiled in a bitter fight with the MDC-T following last year’s Supreme Court ruling that the former was not a political party, but a convergence of several political groupings.
