The Zimbabwe tourism industry is set to attend this year’s edition of Internationale Tourismus-Borse Berlin (ITB), the world’s biggest international travel trade show and a platform for the country to promote its travel industry and tourism destinations.
On its twitter handle the Ministry of Environment, Tourism and Hospitality said it was all set for this year’s ITB 2019 from 6 to10 March 2019 on the fairgrounds of Messe Berlin Germany.
“Ministry of Environment, Tourism and Hospitality is all set for ITB Berlin, we are looking forward to meeting with the tourism industry players who shall be attending the international travel trade show,” said the Ministry.
Speaking to the Media, Minister of Environment, Tourism and Hospitality, Prisca Mupfumira said Zimbabwe’s tourism sector was on a continuous upward trend as compared to the preceding.
“This year, tourism players attending the international travel trade show have increased from 15 in 2018 to 26 in 2019. For 2019 Zimbabwe is a popular tourism destination after being recognized globally as a safe tourism destination,” she said.
Harare Post has learnt that tourism players from around the whole world shall be meeting at the international travel trade show to promote the travel industry. Zimbabwe has an opportunity to lure tourists who would want to visit is travel destinations. Zimbabwe has a potential $7billion growth in tourism export earnings by 2030. This can be achieved through effective marketing of the tourism destinations to the international community.
