President Emmerson Mnagagwa landed in Victoria Falls this morning ahead of today's Transform Africa Summit 2023, which he is scheduled to officially open.
President Mnangagwa landed at the Victoria Falls International Airport shortly after the arrival of Rwanda President, Paul kagame and Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera.
Zambia President, Hakainde Hichilema drove from Livingstone, which is just a stone throw away from the Victoria Falls to join his colleagues at the prestigious Elephant Hills Hotel.
King Mswati III , the King of Eswatini arrived last evening.
Several cabinet ministers and senior Government officials including hundreds of jubilant ZanuPF supporters were at the airport to welcome President Mnangagwa.
Some of the notable dignitaries who were present at the airport to welcome the President included, Matabeleland North Minister of Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde Richard Moyo; Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Prof Amon Murwira; Information Technology, Postal and Courier Service Minister, Dr Jenfan Musvere; Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development, Cde Felix Mhona; Publicity, Information and Broadcasting Services Minister, Monica Mutsvangwa and Local Government and Public Works Minister; Cde July Moyo.
President Mnangagwa took time to greet the multitude of followers before proceeding to the venue of the Summit.
The three day Summit is an annual forum that gathers over 5000 delegates from more than 100 countries to engage in the digital transformation of the continent across multiple sectors.
The Summit, which is being held under the theme ‘Connect, Transform and Innovate’ is aimed at coming up with decisions for Africa's socio-economic development through ICT.
