Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party is plotting to unleash violence across the country ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections in a bid to whip the emotions of that party’s supporters.
A source who spoke to this publication said that interim CCC deputy national spokesperson, Gift ‘Ostallos’ Siziba addressed a caucus meeting of CCC affiliate organisation where he said that CCC was ready to unleash violence prior to the 2023 plebiscite, to tarnish the ruling party’s image in the eyes of the electorate and international community.
“CCC held a meeting with its affiliate organisations at UZ last week where Siziba revealed that the party would embark on pre-election violent demonstrations to psychologically whip emotions of its supporters ahead of the 2023 elections. Siziba added that CCC would ride on the current power challenges and anticipated fuel price increases to trigger nationwide protests. The idea is to portray the ruling Government as a failure and insensitive to people’s plights,” said the source.
According to the source, Siziba revealed in that meeting that CCC was in the process of reactivating some pressure groups such as Tajamuka and People Power, to kick-start the anticipated demonstrations. The source further claimed that Siziba said that CCC would not actively participate in the demonstrations but would use a hired mob and some pressure groups to instigate the violent demonstrations.
The same source added that Siziba told delegates to that meeting that CCC would provide logistical and financial support to the demonstration participants. However, it would remain on the back to protect its image to the international and also to avoid potential arrests of its members.
Meanwhile, Project Vote 263 national coordinator, Allan Chipoyi is set to visit America in January next year to receive training on conducting demonstrations Chipoyi is expected to spend a month in America.
