Prominent Church Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa has joined other positive pastors who have come out encouraging their church members and other Christians who are still resisting the Covid19 vaccination program to get vaccinated. This is an about turn from his previous position advising against taking the vaccine.
In a video clip that has gone viral on social media networks, Makandiwa is heard encouraging his followers and other Christians in general, to go ahead and take the vaccine, while rubbishing assertions that the vaccine is the mark of the beast.
“Covid19 vaccine is not the Mark of the Beast,” said Prophet Makandiwa.
Further explaining himself Prophet Makandiwa encouraged people to get vaccinated because there was no other way of escaping the disease.
“I have to be careful here Pastors so that I’m not heard saying get vaccinated cause I never said don’t get vaccinated.
“That son of yours you are responsible, you have to look after your extended family, you still need your job. What happens now if you say you don’t need the vaccine and then you lose your job?
“Then ultimately after you have lost the job you get vaccinated, because ultimately this is what is going to happen, you will still get vaccinated, if not it won’t be the job you will lose, it’s everything,” Prophet Makandiwa said.
Bishop Makururu of the Ruvheneko Rwenyenyedzi Trust, soon after getting his Covid19 jab vowed to continue spreading the positives of taking Covid19 vaccine.
“I will be meeting with other church leaders soon to discuss Covid19 vaccinations and other health issues affecting our members.
“I’m also encouraging government health officials to come to our shrine to administer vaccines to my followers,”
Meanwhile as of 24 July 2021 Zimbabwe had a cumulative of 976 277 confirmed cases, including 64 628 recoveries and 3 050 deaths. To date 1 438 890 people have been vaccinated.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and publicity, Nick Mangwana confirmed Government receipt of 1million Sinovac vaccines and questioned why one would not get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones.
“With the arrival of 1 million doses of vaccine today, Government has made sure that the supply side of the equation is not an issue. The administration (jabbing) side is under control, thanks to the diligent health workers. One question which remains is why are you not vaccinated?” Mangwana queried.
