The appointment of Zimbabwe’s ambassador to the UN, Dr Frederick Shava, as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and that of Chikomba Central legislator Cde Felix Mhona as Transport and Infrastructure Development Minister has been hailed by citizens who described the appointed team as hard workers.
Norton Independent Legislator Temba Mliswa posted that the appointments were great and will create excitement for a more galvanised team.
“Great appointments in Honourable Mhona, a competent legislator as well as Honourable Kindness Paradza who has vast experience in his field. They both discharge their duties well. On the whole, the selection seem well appointed and create excitement for a more galvanised team,” says Mliswa.
Former tourism minister and G40 kingpin, Walter Mzembi congratulated Shava on Twitter saying he possessed the requisite acumen and credentials for his new assignment.
“This is an appropriate appointment, he is an experienced diplomat with multilateral UN station and Sino geopolitical experience. Cabinet is not new to him, and he should hit the ground running. Congratulations to ambassador Shava,” said Mzembi.
The former UN ambassador also earned praise from another G40 member and former cabinet Minister Saviour Kasukuwere who called him “a balanced and experienced diplomat.”
“He has the appropriate credentials to go with his new assignment and a matured approach to issues. All the best Dr. Shava, all eyes on you,” Kasukuwere posted.
