The MDC-Alliance are expected to release to the public results of the probe against suspended Bulawayo provincial Women’s Assembly chairperson, Tendai Masotsha over her alleged role in the alleged abduction and torture of Tawanda Muchehiwa by suspected state agents.

The three-member committee comprised of lawyer and Nkulumane MP, Kucaca Phulu, Jameson Timba and that party’s deputy secretary-general Concillia Chinanzwavana, has completed its investigations against Masotsha and has since handed over its final report to the party leader, Nelson Chamisa.

A source within the MDC-Alliance confided in this publication that Masotsha has been found not guilty of the charges she was facing.

“The party has finalised its investigations against Masotsha who was being accused of playing a role in the abduction of Muchehiwa. The final report was handed over to president Chamisa last week and he is expected to make the results public tomorrow. However, it is important to tell you that she was found not guilty as she was only a victim of party politics,” said the source.

The source further said Masotsha is expected to be reinstated as the Bulawayo provincial chair lady tomorrow.

“We expect Masotsha to be reinstated as the Bulawayo provincial chair lady tomorrow because she is not guilty. Yes, they are people who wanted her to be expelled from the party, but they could not satisfy the investigation team with their allegations against Masotsha,” added the source.

The MDC-Alliance had previously announced in early August, this year that the probe against Masotsha was going to take only 48 hours, however the probe went on for three months as factional fights within the MDC-Alliance hampered the investigations

Efforts to get a comment from MDC-Alliance’s national spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahere were fruitless as she indicated that she was about to get into courtroom .She also didn’t respond to questions send on her WhatsApp number.
