Zanu PF women’s League have joined other well-wishers in donating to the Cyclone Idai victims.

The Women’s League National Secretary Mabel Chinomona led the Women League delegation with the donations to Chimanimani today.

The consignment of Women`s League donations include an assortment of household goods, utensils, blankets, clothes and medicine all totalling over 29 tonnes.

The goods will be handed over to the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing which is responsible for coordinating relief efforts.

Speaking during an interview with Harare Post, Mellisa Makuni highlighted that as residents of Chimanimani, they are happy with the aid which they are getting from various organisations.

“As Chimanimani residents, we would like to express sincere gratitude to everyone who is extending a hand towards Cyclone Idai victims. It really shows a spirit of togetherness. As Zimbabweans we must continue to work together all times,” she said.

Some have indicated that Zanu PF has shown that it is the people`s party that does not discriminate especially in dire times like this.

One old lady known as Mbuya Jari said, “This is so touching to note that Zanu PF is not politicising donations. These donations are entitled to everyone affected despite political affiliation. All political parties should emulate this good behaviour that has been displayed by Zanu PF.”
