Netizens have castigated the thuggish and unruly behaviour exhibited by some MDC Alliance activists who are testifying at the ongoing Commission of Inquiry into the 1 August 2018 post-election violence.
Among the MDC members who testified are Lovemore Chinoputsa and Makomborero Haruzivishe who openly discredited the Commission saying it is biased towards Zanu PF.
Chinoputsa at the Commission of Inquiry highlighted that he feared the composition of the Commission, singling out Professor Manyeruke as a member of the Zanu PF women’s league and that she was very conflicted.
Haruzivishe also challenged the composition of the commissioners, that is, University of Zimbabwe lecturer Professor Lovemore Madhuku and International law expert Mr Rodney Dixon QC from the United Kingdom.
Responding to Haruzivishe’s testimony on twitter, @violetgonda tweeted “That was not the forum for him to question the role or integrity of Commissioners. This goes to show how twisted some elements of opposition are. If they think this commission is a façade then why bother to participate in it. The curious case of the runaway V11’s once again!”
Another troll, @Letty_Mabhena tweeted, “The Commission of Inquiry should not entertain known MDC goons such as Makomborero who is a well-known member of the Vanguard Militia. Instead of answering questions he resorted to name calling”
MDC Alliance has always been violent. Even throughout the election period their violent tenants were being projected. They seem to be irrational in their actions, starting from the leaders and it seems to be trickling down to the supporters.
MDC supporters have a thuggish behaviour and culture which is evident in their constant attacks on Government efforts aimed at restoring sanity in the country. President Emmerson Mnangagwa, set up the Commission of Inquiry in a bid to promote peace and transparency in Zimbabwe, but the opposition is determined to see it fail.
MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa has accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa and ZEC Chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba of rigging the 2018 Presidential elections, after he lost the presidential elections. Chamisa has failed to accept defeat and to move on.
The Constitutional Court also dismissed Chamisa’s petition when he accused Zanu PF of rigging. This did not go down well with MDC Alliance who also accused Chief Justice Luke Malaba of being biased toward Zanu PF. As if that is not enough, MDC Alliance MPs are on record embarrassing Justice Malaba in Parliament.
