Zimbabwe has scooped three prestigious awards at this year’s edition of International Tourism Bourse-Berlin (ITB-Berlin) for being a sustainable tourism destination.
On its twitter handle, Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services said yesterday the country had been awarded three awards for being a sustainable tourism destination and the Minister of Environment Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Prisca Mupfumira for being the Tourism Minister of the year and Institute of South Asian Women (ISAW) women achiever of the year.
“Zimbabwe scooped three awards at the Pacific Areas Travel Writers Association International Awards (PATWA) held at ITB-Berlin, Germany for being a sustainable tourism destination for 2019, Tourism Minister of the Year and Women Achiever of the Year,” said the Ministry.
In support of recognising the Ministers work in promoting the country’s tourism industry abroad, Women in Tourism Zimbabwe said the Minister believes in Zimbabwe’s tourism industry and deserves these awards.
“As we congratulate one of our own, you believed in our country’s tourism industry and have supported it, in the process you gave all yourself to promote the tourism industry. Today we celebrate not just Zimbabwe but we celebrate you as well Minister Mupfumira,” said Women in Tourism Zimbabwe.
Harare Post has learnt that tourism players in Zimbabwe have commended Minister Mupfumira for flying the Zimbabwe’s flag high which has culminated into a grand success for Zimbabwe as a tourism destination.
