A well-placed insider has shed light on the growing rift between Chamisa and Biti, saying that the internal discord has become increasingly apparent as the two politicians have thrown their support behind different candidates.
According to the source, Biti is backing Shame Chirairo, while Chamisa has endorsed the recalled councillor, Charmaine Chiwara, to be re-elected as councillor.
"The party is currently navigating through rough waters as Biti and Chamisa have locked horns over the selection of a candidate to represent CCC in the by-elections. Biti is steadfast in his support for Shame Chirairo, a move that has not gone down well with Chamisa, who is rooting for Charmaine Chiwara.
