Government has issued a stern warning against the unauthorised development and sale of stands, particularly targeting activities by Pullhill Enterprises and similar agencies in the Goromonzi area between Murewa and Shamva.

In a press statement yesterday, the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works expressed grave concerns over the illicit operations identified at Lot 2 of Stuhm.

“The Ministry of Local Government and Public Works has noted with concern the illegal developments through the opening of roads and the sale of stands by a company identified as Pullhill Enterprises and its agencies at Lot 2 Stuhm in Goromonzi, between Murewa and Shamva roads,” reads the statement from the Ministry.

The Ministry unequivocally ordered the immediate cessation of such activities by Pullhill Enterprises and any other unauthorised groups.

“Now therefore, the Minister hereby directs Pullhill Enterprises and its agencies or any other unauthorised entities to stop the illegal developments and sale of stands on Lot 2 of Stuhm,” the statement further stated.

The same press statement warned the public against purchasing stands from these unauthorised sales, highlighting the potential legal repercussions and financial losses.

“The Ministry of Local Government and Public Works is advising the public not to purchase the stands being advertised on Lot 2 of Stuhm or any other land or stands that are not authorised, as they risk losing their hard-earned money and being prosecuted for illegal take-up of urban state land,” the Ministry cautioned.

Further clarifying the legal framework, the Ministry reminded the public of the ministry’s exclusive authority over urban state land transactions.

“According to Section 43 of the Regional Town and Country Planning Act, Chapter 29.12, the Minister of Local Government and Public Works, on behalf of His Excellency, the President, Cde. Dr. E. D. Mnangagwa has the sole authority to subdivide, lease, or sell urban state land,” the statement explained.

The Ministry called on law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to diligently enforce these regulations and ensure that all land development complies with the nation’s laws, thereby safeguarding the interests of the public and the integrity of urban development.

Meanwhile, in response to these unauthorised land sales, Government has intensified its efforts to prosecute land barons and illegal land sellers, taking a non-partisan approach that has already led to numerous arrests.
