Mliswa’s victim speaks out

A man who was sodomised by Norton independent legislator, Themba Mliswa in 2003, has come out in the open and said he was still traumatized by the incident.

The man, (name withheld) who is now a footballer, said that he was sodomised by Mliswa at the time he was briefly the Dynamos interim chairperson in 2003.

“In 2003, when I was 18, I went for trials at Dynamos Football Club. I was called to the chairman’s office where Mliswa was. Mliswa said that he liked me and started caressing me,” said the traumatised footballer.

The man said Mliswa later asked him to pull down his pants before sodomising him.

“When I reflect back on what happened in that room, I feel angry and bitter. Mliswa took advantage of my youthfulness to sodomise me. After the incident, he promised that he would facilitate my move to Dynamos and that never materialised,” said the victim.

Asked on why he took long to open up, the man said that he felt embarrassed to let people know that he was a victim of sodomy.

“I am saying this so that people know who really Mliswa is. Yes, I took long to open up but I have a feeling that I am doing the right thing. Mliswa is not a saint as he claims to be. He is actually a danger to the society,” said the man.

Last year, Mliswa’s ex-lover, Susan Mutami also confirmed that Mliswa was bisexual as he would engage in sexual activities with both men and women.

“I was really shocked that the man I believed to have left his crooked behaviour wanted to invite a man in our intimate space. He had told me about his past having foursomes, bisexual and sex with men. Temba told me that he has 18 children and because of his age, he wants to get a vasectomy. Since I am a person who does not judge people or hold their past against them I accepted his proposal,” said Mutami then.

Mutami also revealed that Mliswa was having an affair with another man, Goodwell Zinyama and Eleanor Kaziboni, the Youth Advocacy for Reform and Democracy (YARD) secretary general.
