Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa is expected to announce a lean national structure with a number of bigwigs set to be omitted from the new set up.
A source who spoke to this publication said that Chamisa would soon announce a lean national executive that will be known as the National Champions Committee (NCC) executive.
The source added that the new NCC would be mostly made up of new faces as Chamisa is set to relegate all members with questionable loyalty.
“Chamisa is set to announce a lean NCC executive anytime soon. This new executive will be composed of new faces with a number of bigwigs set to be relegated. Members with questionable loyalty to Chamisa will be omitted from this new structure,” said the source.
The source added that Chamisa had already drawn a draft of the NCC executive and his loyalists were set to occupy key positions within that party.
According to the source, CCC bigwigs set to lose their influential positions include Tendai Biti, Charlton Hwende, Welshman Ncube and Job Sikhala as they are being accused of leading a faction that is opposed to Chamisa’s presidency.
The source added that the new NCC structure would likely be composed of people like Gift Ostallos Siziba, Fadzayi Mahere, Amos Chibaya, Clifford Hlatshwayo, Starman Chamisa, James Chidhakwa, Trust Mamombe, James Chidhakwa and Tsepiso Helen Mpofu.
The source added that US Embassy’s Senior Foreign Service Officer, Arthur Brown had been holding meetings with Chamisa telling him that Washington was irked by his delay in announcing the interim structure.
According to the source, Chamisa was hesitating to announce the interim structure fearing infiltration from pro-Tendai Biti faction which is planning to push for a Congress especially if a Constitution is availed.
Efforts to get a comment from CCC spokesperson, Mahere were futile as her mobile phones were not reachable.
