The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has appointed Catherine Mpofu as the Deputy Spokesperson of the Commission.
Speaking through a press statement yesterday, ZEC said that it was pleased to announce the appointment of Mpofu as its Deputy Spokesperson.
“The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of Commissioner Catherine Mpofu to the post of Deputy Spokesperson of the Commission.
“Commissioner Catherine Mpofu is a Language and Communications specialist as well as a Peace Practitioner,” said ZEC.
ZEC further said that Mpofu worked at the Parliament of Zimbabwe as a Public Relations Officer in the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee on Foreign Affairs Committee, the Portfolio Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Budget and Finance Committee with vast experience as an interpreter at the same Parliament.
ZEC reiterated and commended Mpofu`s work experience with the public, the media and Civil Society spanning over a period of eleven years. ZEC further said that Mpofu also served as the healing, Reconciliation and Rehabilitation Manager at the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission and holds a BA degree in Ndebele Language and Master of Science in Peace, Leadership and Conflict Resolution.
The appointments of ZEC commissioners are made in terms of section 238 (1) (b) of the Constitution.
