Mukogo appointed Commissioner of the PSC

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed Rosemary Rubvumo Mukogo as Commissioner of the Public Service Commission.

Speaking in a press statement today, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda said, “His Excellency the President, Cde Emmerson D.Mnangagwa, has, in terms of Section 2020 [1} (b) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, and read together with Section 320 of the Constitution, appointed Mrs Rosemary Rubvumo Mukogo as a Commissioner of the Public Service Commission.”

Dr Sibanda said that Mukogo was a holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Zimbabwe, and post-graduate qualifications in Environmental Economics and Policy Analysis from Havard University.

He went on to say that Mukogo has over thirty years of experience of operating at strategic levels having served Government in trade and commerce, and rose to the post of Under-Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, and subsequently becoming the Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority. He said that she also served in the private sector as Executive Director of Air Harbor Technologies.

Dr Sibanda said that Mukogo had served on the boards of public and private sector institutions including Zimbabwe Newspaper Group of Companies, Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe, ZIMREF GOLD (Pvt) and MosioaTunya Pvt Ltd.

He further said that Mukogo was also a special advisor in Africa in founding and managing Green Tourism Services Pvt Ltd.

“Mrs Mukogo has built her capability and credibility as special advisor in Africa in founding and managing Green Tourism Services Pvt Ltd, a company with reach across Africa and which has consistently consulted for the New Partnership for Africa`s Development (NEPAD) and the Regional Tourism Organization for Southern Africa [RETOSA]”

The appointment of the Public Service Commission is with effect from 1st May, 2022.
