President Mnangagwa has said that ZANU PF remains the only party with a solid vision for the future and reiterated that Party members should guarantee that it remains the Party of choice.
Addressing the ZANU PF 19th National People’s Conference in Bindura yesterday, President Mnangagwa said ZANU PF was the only Party which brought independence through a protracted liberation struggle.
“ZANU PF is indeed the only Party with a rich history which brought about independence and democracy, through a protracted liberation struggle. It is also the only Party which has plans and programmes for the present growth and prosperity of our country.
“We are the only Party with a solid vision for the future. This should galvanize and embolden all cadres to work concertedly to guarantee that ZANU PF remains the Party of choice, which serves the people wholeheartedly,” said the President.
President Mnangagwa implored delegates to recommit themselves to the Party’s mission of ensuring that the people of Zimbabwe remain masters of their own destiny. He said ZANU PF and all its structures must keep alive the Party’s revolutionary ethos, principles and values.
The President said the Government remains committed to providing high quality health services to the people and added that efforts have been intensified to increase domestic funding for health so that such critical services remain easily accessible and affordable to the general populace.
President Mnangagwa said Government’s robust actions in handling the Covid 19 pandemic demonstrated that the country has a caring Government that values the lives of its people. The President reiterated that as a country, we have the necessary resolve and resourcefulness to confront dangers that threaten the country and its people. He added that judging by the present development epoch, ZANU PF is indeed the shield of the nation.
The President further said that improvements in the heath sector would continue to take place and said the availability of drugs and medicines was set to ease through deliberate strategies to resuscitate and grow the local pharmaceutical industry. Regarding the education system, the President said that Government was constructing more schools, especially in the rural areas to ensure that children do not walk more than five kilometres to school.
Turning to the illegal sanctions, President Mnangagwa said that the illegal sanctions were unjustified and a violation of the human rights and reiterated that they should be immediately and unconditionally removed. The President said steps had been taken toward improving people’s lives and said that he was buoyed by the mantra “Nyika Inovakwa Nevene vayo”.
ZANU PF is holding its 19th National People’s Conference in Bindura. The Conference, running under the theme “Growing and modernizing the economy towards Vision 2030, will end on Sunday.
