Following alleged attacks on MDC-Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa’s convoy and advance team on their way to meet community leaders in Charumbira in Masvingo province on 11 October 2021, the opposition party’s security department has come up with a Situation Mission Executive Command and Communication Strategy (SMECC) with a view to unleashing violence on Zanu-PF members.
According to a source within the opposition party, this was done in preparation for Chamisa’s Mashonaland West visit, where he is expected to meet party members in Kariba, Magunje, Mhondoro, Chegutu and Chinhoyi.
“We are now prepared to fight, and to retaliate in the event that we are provoked. As you know our president is touring all the country’s ten provinces, mobilising for support ahead of the 2023 elections. The attacks on our president that took place in Masvingo led us to beef our security and to come up with more strategies ahead of other provincial visits on our calendar,” he said.
The source said the opposition party’s Democratic Resistance Committees (DRC) has been re-activated and deployed in all provinces for the purposes of violence.
“Secret bases where the DRCs are housed have been set up. As you know the DRC members are well trained and equipped. They have guns, tear gases and other weapons to use in case of violence,” the source added.
According to the source, in Mashonaland West, about thirty DRC members are housed at a base set up in Magunje in preparation for Chamisa’s visit.
Since 2 000, the opposition has been involved in foul political shenanigans including faking abductions, provoking the Government and the ruling party Zanu-PF with a view to attracting international spotlight for the purposes of condemning the leadership of the country.
The DRCs were put up for the final push on the former late president Robert Mugabe’s administration and still exists to date. DRC members were trained on how to conduct mass uprisings, how to attack armed security officers and how to draw the attention of the international community, who happened to be the financiers of the regime change agenda.
The MDC-Alliance is on record for provoking the Government ahead of regional, continental and international events and visits by delegates from these bodies, with a view to reinforcing perpetuated false allegations on the situation in Zimbabwe.
