Government through the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced a criterion to be followed by its stake holders to ensure equitable access of roller meal following the recent announcement of the roller meal subsidy, a Cabinet Minister has said.
In a press statement, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Sekesai Nzenza said her Ministry was advising all its stakeholders that the roller meal subsidy programme was going to be transparent.
“The Minister of Industry and Commerce would like to advise all stakeholders that following the recently announced roller meal subsidy programme the following criteria will apply to ensure transparency, fairness and equitable access of this subsidy.
“Application for expression of interest should be lodged with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce formally to participate in the subsidy.
“Registration with Agricultural Marketing Authority (AMA), Grain Marketing Board (GMB), ZIMRA, Standard Development Fund (SDF) and Government vendor number issued by Treasury, namely Public Finance Management Vendor Number,” she said.
She also said stakeholders should be in position of a Grain Milling Licence and confirmation letter issued by the Grain Marketing Board Company Certificate of Incorporation and CR14, Tax Clearance Certificate issued by the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA).
The Minister also said millers and all stakeholders registered by the GMB are expected to submit their allocation requests by the 20th of every month.
Government is coming up with programmes to alleviate people from the effects of drought experienced during the 2019 to 2020 farming season. The roller meal subsidy is one of such programmes expected to benefit the majority of affected households.
