Citizens have welcomed the High Court ruling which nullified the appointment of MDC-T national executive members Nelson Chamisa and Engineer Elias Mudzuri as party co-vice presidents three years ago.

Kudzai Mutisi tweeted saying that Chamisa’s position in the MDC-T party is now null and void as he is a nothing in the party.

“High Court ruling nullifying Nelson Chamisa’s Vice Presidency and Presidency carries massive implications. It also means Chamisa’s candidature for the 2018 Elections is null and void.

“He does not even have a place in the National Dialogue. He is a nothing, a burger. His position for that party has been nullified, he is illegitimate an initio,” he said.

The New Dispensation tweeted saying the High court proved that Chamisa is an illegitimate MDC-T leader.

“Now that the High Court has ruled that Chamisa as an illegitimate MDC-T leader, which legitimacy issues can he school President Mnangagwa. He should just sit down,” they wrote.

Lynn Ziki Dembe ‏also tweeted saying, “MDC-T should have followed due process from day one. A team full of so called lawyers to miss out on something key like this, Kusaziya rufu.”

Bla musonza tweeted saying that the MDC-T should go to congress to correct things because they failed to interpret the MDC-T constitution which the High Court did for them.

“MDC-T should have gone to an extraordinary congress and regularised or ratified Tsvangirai’s appointments. It was either an administrative oversight or just complete incompetence. A leader cannot replace Congress. High Court is interpreting the MDC Constitution,” he said.

Nyasha Lloyd Japondo tweeted saying, “It did not need to take much to hold an extraordinary congress as per constitution. We also said when Tvangirai made the appointments that it was not a legal thing to do. MDC-T only refers to an elected VP, Madam Khupe. They truly shot themselves in the foot.”

Dhara Blessed Mhlanga tweeted saying that the judgement was right as Chamisa is an illegitimate leader.

“Reading the entire judgement I am yet to find were 2014 structures are mentioned. The judgement also says only Thokozane Khupe is the legitimate Deputy President of MDC-T and everything done by Chamisa since his appointment is null and void. MDC-T Presidential candidate is now null and void guys,” he said.

Chamisa has been busy preaching and claiming that President Mnangagwa’s Presidency is illegitimate, yet he won the 2018 Presidential elections fair and square, when in actual fact it is him who has been holding onto a position unconstitutionally.
