Speaking during the tour, Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe Chief Executive Officer, Obert Muganyura said, “The Hwange transmitter will cover a radius of sixty kilometres. It will allow people in Hwange to access high definition television coverage that will bring them into the modern broadcasting loop.”

“The digitalisation project will also at the same time renew our frequency modulation (FM) channel that will widen the radio transmission spectrum and allow other players to come in,” he added.

Minister Mutsvangwa began by touring the Hwange digitalisation transmitter which is still under construction. She was accompanied by her deputy, Minister Energy Mutodi and Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Ndavaningi Mangwana.
