Masarira accuses Chamisa of destructive leadership in CCC

The LEAD president took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her disapproval of Chamisa’s leadership approach.

Masarira's posts painted a picture of Chamisa as a leader who, rather than building his party, has actively contributed to its decline.

"Chamisa is not the builder he claims to be. His charismatic allure, coupled with the public's desire for change, has been manipulated to serve his own ends, leading to the fragmentation of the MDC and the nascent CCC," Masarira stated.

Masarira’s posts were a direct call for Chamisa to engage in self-reflection, cautioning him about the potential personal and professional repercussions of his political actions.

"While others may fall prey to what I term 'the cobra effect' of your leadership—manipulative, seductive, and vindictive—I stand firm in calling out the narcissistic tendencies that have led to significant losses for the opposition," she added.

Masarira's tirade continued, threatening to expose Chamisa's alleged duplicity if he does not come clean about his role in the various splits within the MDC, dating back to 2005 and as recent as 2023.

"The time is now to confront the reality of your actions. I am ready to facilitate live interviews with those aggrieved by your leadership, revealing the full extent of your hypocrisy," she warned.

The LEAD president accused Chamisa of adopting a godfather persona in opposition politics, dictating the political fates of others while capitalising on the opposition's desperation for change.

"Your self-appointment as the overseer of political careers must be addressed. It's time for introspection," Masarira advised.

Masarira concluded with a stark reminder to Chamisa of his responsibility for CCC's current predicament.

"The man in the mirror holds the key to change. The political resurrection you hope for requires a fundamental transformation in leadership style," she concluded.

Meanwhile, CCC now faces a critical juncture as it contends with internal dissension and the looming threat of legislative recalls spearheaded by Tshabangu.

Amidst this turmoil, Chamisa has been summoned to verify his signature on that party's constitution, as presented to the High Court, a move that could have far-reaching consequences for the CCC's future.
