Masarirevu refuse to be intimidated

In the last few days, some CCC leaders including Fadzayi Mahere and Gift Siziba have been all over social media accusing Masarirevu of being an imposter and fraudster because his candidature in St Mary’s was not endorsed by Nelson Chamisa.

The duo also directed CCC members in St Mary’s to vote for one Brighton Mazhindu despite Masarirevu being the winner of that party’s chaotic candidate selection process.

However, Masarirevu, who is also a lawyer by profession, came out guns blazing yesterday accusing his party leadership of failing to amicably solve disputes and reiterated that he didn’t forge his nomination papers.

“My only wish was to be cleared. Retract your statement where you alleged I forged documents because I never did. My reputation is everything. I told all the leaders who spoke to me and I have evidence. Instead I continue to be blasted. That’s not how to handle disputes,” said Masarirevu.

Masarirevu reiterated that he was the winner of the ‘bereka mwana’ candidate selection process but was surprised to see that party’s Candidate Independent Selection Panel (CISP) endorsing Mazhindu.

Masarirevu was contemplating hosting a Twitter Space to clear his name and expose the shortcomings of the CCC’s candidate selection process.

“At law, there is this rule ‘audiatur et altera pars’ which when translated means hear the other side. So many questions and accusations raised.  I am back and determined to deal with any issue. A Twitter Space will be proper and I will be happy to participate,” added Masarirevu.

Meanwhile, CCC has double candidates in 41 wards and constituencies caused by the shambolic nomination process. The CCC leadership gave the candidates 24 hours to withdraw their candidature on 26 June but the majority of them refused to be intimidated and vowed to contest the 23 August elections on CCC ticket.
