Sources suggest that Ncube is apparently using the youth wing of his former party to fuel this comeback.
A source who spoke on the basis of anonymity said that the alleged revival of MDC Green involves one Discent Bajila, who is known to be a member of the CCC.
“Bajila a former MDC Green youth leader and currently a CCC national executive member, has reportedly facilitated papers of MDC Green youth member identified by the name ‘Ashy” from Luveve, to participate in the Program on International Policy Attitude Symposium (PIPA).
“What has raised concerns among CCC members is Bajila’s act of signing the papers for Ashton to represent MDC Green at the PIPA Conference in South Africa in his capacity as an official of the MDC Green, while being a professed member of CCC, this further indicated that there is a clandestine resurrection of MDC Green,” said the source
The source indicated that they were suspicions that some CCC party members were disguising as part of CCC, but secretly working with other parties, in this case MDC Green
“CCC members have always suspected that there are individuals within the party who publicly support CCC during the day, but secretly working towards reviving MDC Green,” reported the source
The source went on to say, “The situation has further been complicated by the claim of former MDC-Green members that a party, which supposedly dissolved in 2019, is now sending delegates to international conferences.
“This claim has raised eyebrows among members of the CCC in Bulawayo, breeding a sense of mistrust and confusion within that party,” the source added
Furthermore, the source disclosed that the allegations against Ncube and the purported role of the youth in the revival of MDC Green have created an atmosphere of uncertainty and “this indicates that CCC is at the verge of an implosion and that the dynamics of that party are certainly hanging in the balance.”
