CCC leaders furious over advocacy for party structures

According to an anonymous but reliable source within the CCC, Chinobva perceived the call for party structures from party members as a direct challenge to CCC leader, Nelson Chamisa, sparking tensions within the party.

“Party members reached out to Chinobva who is the director of the organising department, saying that they wanted party structures arguing that a party without structure makes it more vulnerable and more susceptible to Chamisa’s dictatorial tendencies when it comes to candidate nominations and the recent selection of Mayors.

“This unexpected development has sent shockwaves through the CCC, as party members find themselves divided over the issue of establishing structures. Their opinion infuriated Chinobva,” the source added.

Furthermore, the source indicated that Chinobva was infuriated to an extent that he reached out to CCC Movement Mobilizer, Amos Chibaya, to express his strong opposition to the idea of forming party structures.

He allegedly told Chibaya that "advocating for party structures is akin to fighting CCC leader, Nelson Chamisa, and this is something that should not be tolerated within the party."

“This statement has raised questions on the level of influence and authority Chamisa holds within CCC. Party members are tired and are saying that Chamisa is a dictator, that is why he does not want any party structures but as always, we are at the receiving end,” the source added.

The source further said that party members were arguing that a healthy political organization should encourage internal debate and discussion, rather than stifling differing viewpoints. “Some members are now reportedly resorting to intimidation tactics to silence those who support the establishment of party structures,” said the source.

Chamisa’s continued undemocratic tendencies have angered the party membership, and a lot of disquiet is simmering within, with some members reportedly considering leaving.
