CCC thugs attacked Nyatsime residents

A source who spoke to this publication revealed that the CCC assailants invaded a piece of state land which was occupied by ZANU PF members and attacked ZANU PF members using machetes and stones. According to the source, the ZANU PF members lost their valuables that were in the houses including their money which they could not even trace up to now.

“It is indeed a sad situation. The way these CCC thugs attacked the ZANU PF members who live in Nyatsime area, left the whole community traumatized. Some of the ZANU PF members had to flee the place resulting in some of these members losing their valuables including their money. It seems these CCC activists took advantage of fleeing ZANU PF members to steal their belongings that were in their houses,” said the source.

The source highlighted that the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP)  officer commanding Chitungwiza district, Chief superintendent Severino Muguti visited the area the following day accompanied by ZANU PF Provincial Secretary for Lands Brezhnev Mashanato and addressed the people urging them to be peaceful and to shun violence as the nation draws closer to this year`s harmonized elections. He further said that the perpetrators of violence would be brought to book.

Meanwhile, Epworth magistrate, Richard Madani granted four CCC activists zwl$ 50 000 bail each and remanded them out of custody to 16 June 2023.The quartet, who were arrested for assaulting ZANU PF Nehanda district Chairperson, Pride Lukas, on 15 May are Tungano Nyamukandiwa, Phillip Chikeya, Didymus Bande and Noel Rungano.

CCC activists continue to unleash violence on ZANU PF members despite President Mnangagwa`s call to desist from violence especially during this election season. Last month 20 CCC thugs in Masvingo attacked two ZANU PF members and left them for dead.
