"We celebrate the rise of Hon. Lovemore Matuke, who has earned this prestigious position through hard work and dedication to the people. This is a proud day for all of us in Masvingo, and we stand behind him as he takes this crucial role in Government."
The event, which coincided with the start of the New Year, was a festive occasion with music and dance. Renowned musicians, including Aleck Macheso, Mark Ngwazi, and Madzibaba Nicholas Zacharia, performed to a jubilant crowd, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
"This is an exciting moment not just for Matuke, but for all of us who are proud of his journey. These performances are a reflection of our joy, and we will keep celebrating,” said Tapiwa Chikomo, Ward 34 Councillor.
The celebration included speeches, gifts, and a lavish feast, with attendees presenting a variety of offerings, including heifers, sheep, goats, cash, clothes, and other valuable items to Matuke and his family in recognition of his new position.
The large turnout of supporters from Gutu and surrounding areas reflected a strong local backing for Matuke’s appointment. As the event drew to a close, members of the community expressed their pride and support for their newly appointed leader, marking the beginning of a new chapter in both his political career and Masvingo's development.
The successful celebration of Matuke's appointment highlights the region's enthusiasm for his leadership and the importance of his new role in shaping national security policies in Zimbabwe.
