Gutu West Constituency is witnessing significant progress in healthcare infrastructure, driven by the Member of Parliament for the area John Paradza.
Paradza has been at the forefront of a vital initiative to construct clinics throughout the constituency, a key component of the Government’s broader commitment to enhancing healthcare services and ensuring that no one is left behind.
During a recent inspection tour, Gutu West Field Officer, Cde Martin Nyikayaramba, visited Chivake Clinic in Ward 20 and Togwati Clinic in Ward 3 to assess the ongoing construction.
The tour highlighted the proactive measures being taken to accelerate the completion of these essential healthcare facilities, reflecting a strong, hands-on approach to development.
Cde Nyikayaramba expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction during his visit and reaffirmed the Government’s dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure, particularly in rural communities.
“The work being done here is a testament to Paradza’s commitment and the collective effort of everyone involved in this project. We are not just constructing clinics; we are building hope and a healthier future for the people of Gutu West. The Second Republic fully supports initiatives that ensure every citizen has access to quality healthcare, no matter where they live,” he remarked.
Speaking to this publication, Honourable Paradza underscored the importance of these projects, particularly for residents in rural areas who have historically faced challenges in accessing medical care.
“Our objective is to ensure that every resident of Gutu West has access to quality healthcare without the need to travel long distances. The construction of these clinics is a crucial step toward that goal. We are committed to building a healthier community where everyone, regardless of their location, can receive the medical attention they deserve,” stated Paradza.
He further emphasized that the initiative was not only about infrastructure but also to transform lives.
“This project is not just about building structures; it’s about enhancing the quality of life. By bringing healthcare services closer to the people, we are reducing the burden on families who have had to endure hardships to access basic medical care. We are proud of the progress being made and are determined to see this through to completion,” he added.
The local community has responded positively to these developments, with residents expressing their gratitude for the Government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises.
Mrs Chipo Mudzengi, a resident of Chivake, highlighted the long-standing challenges faced by villagers in accessing healthcare.
“For years, we had to travel long distances to seek medical care, which was especially difficult for the elderly and those with chronic conditions. Now, with the clinic being built in our ward, we feel that the Government is truly delivering on its promises. This is what we have been waiting for, and we are thankful,” she said.
Another resident, Tinashe Mapuranga, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the positive impact the clinics will have on the community’s overall well-being.
“Access to healthcare is a basic right, and we are glad that our leaders are prioritizing it. The construction of these clinics is a clear sign that we are not being left behind,” he noted.
This initiative is in line with the Government’s broader ‘Access to Health for All’ campaign, which aims to ensure that healthcare facilities are accessible to every Zimbabwean.
The ongoing construction of clinics across Gutu West represents a significant stride towards achieving this goal, demonstrating the Second Republic’s commitment to improving the quality of life for its citizens.
