In an effort to bridge infrastructure and socioeconomic disparities in Binga, Government is vigorously advancing the Binga Development Initiatives, a series of impactful projects targeting the upliftment of the district.

This ambitious drive was set in motion by President Mnangagwa during his visit to the district in March 2022 and continues to gain momentum.

During yesterday’s post-Cabinet media briefing, Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, Jenfan Muswere, highlighted the Government's dedication to enhance the living standards in Binga.

"Significant strides have been made in rolling out transformative projects aimed at closing infrastructure and socioeconomic gaps in the Binga District," Minister Muswere stated.

The Minister elaborated on key projects undertaken in the district, including the rehabilitation of the Lubimbi-Mswazi road, the Binga Airstrip, and the Binga District Hospital mortuary. Further efforts encompass the refurbishment of the Binga Hospital Mothers' Shelter, the inauguration of the Twasumpuka Community Radio Station, the Binga Craft Centre's rehabilitation, and the enhancement of local facilities with the installation of an electricity transformer at Manjolo and internet connectivity at Binga High School to support e-learning.

The establishment of the Binga Border Post and various senior Government appointments, along with the issuance of national identification documents and the delivery of fishing rigs, were also highlighted.

According to the Minister, an extensive assessment exercise conducted from November 12 to 26, 2023, examined the advancements across Binga's North and South constituencies.

This evaluation spanned various sectors, including education, health, energy, public housing, water and sanitation, ICT, governance, empowerment, transport, and national registry services, covering areas such as Sizemba, Tyuunga, Nsungwale, Siabuwa, Mujere, Manjolo, and Bulawayo Kraal in Binga North, and Lusulu and Chuuzya in Binga South.

Meanwhile, the developments in Binga align with the Government’s National Development Strategy 1 and President Mnangagwa's commitment to inclusive growth, ensuring that no place and no one is left behind in the country's progress.
