Sir Manu
If I die, tell my unborn son that I died for his liberation.
Say to my pregnant wife that she is a woman of the jungle now. Living everyday anticipating her husband's return. Alas, her husband has become a cloud that rain down freedom on mother land.
Tell my mother that your daughter wanted to come back home and see how a free Zimbabwe looks like, but there was acid everywhere and her flesh couldn't hold up.
Tell them all there was a blast in Marongora and we all couldn't make it
Yes we lost a battle in Marongora but the hope of winning the war is never lost for if someone wishes to have something, all the universe conspires to help that person.
The dunes are constantly changed by the wind, but the desert remains the desert.
Those were the words of gallant sons and daughters of the soil reminding the enemy that Zimbabwe will be Zimbabwe for Zimbabweans.
Today we are independent thanks to the blood and sweat of our brothers and sisters. They sacrificed it all to liberate Zimbabwe.
A lot went and never came back. They were swallowed by the desire to see a free Zimbabwe.
Even though they could not see it, we are here enjoying their sacrifices.
Your unfearful decision brothers and sisters brought us our independence and today we celebrate your heroism.
Though I never saw you dad,You are my hero and to you my heroine aunt, that was a painful death but continue to rest in peace.
