President Emmerson Mnangagwa has revealed that Government will soon avail clean-up resources to Harare City Council including refuse collection trucks and more cholera drugs in an effort to curb the deadly disease.
Addressing people at Tichagarika shopping centre in Glenview after touring a borehole which was the source of the cholera outbreak, President Mnangagwa said Government was in the process of fundraising for a new water and sewer reticulation to replace the old and collapsing system.
"Government is going to assist Harare City Council through provision of refuse collection trucks so that garbage is collected timely. We will help council to fight this deadly disease. We will chip in with more resources as council on its own can not manage due to lack of resources."
President Mnangagwa pays his condolences to 10 bereaved families of cholera victims and promised to support the families through Government systems.
President Mnangagwa thanked the corporate world which he said was donating clean water to the affected residents of Glenview including Spar which is giving 40 000 litres of clean water weekly to Glenview residents.
