The 2025 edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) is well underway, with organisers and stakeholders implementing strategies that firmly place innovation and youth empowerment at the heart of this year’s showcase.
Speaking during a recent stakeholders meeting, ZITF Board Chairman Busisa Moyo emphasised that this year’s event was driven by outcomes, not just displays.
“ZITF 2025 is not just a platform for showcasing products; it is a launchpad for business and a key opportunity for young entrepreneurs to connect with potential investors and clients. We want to create a space where innovation thrives and meaningful partnerships are forged,” said Moyo.
He noted that young innovators and entrepreneurs were already taking advantage of the fair to engage with funders, industry leaders, and potential clients.
ZITF Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nicholas Ndebele reinforced this vision, confirming that the exhibition was already benefitting from infrastructural upgrades, enhanced service delivery, and stronger stakeholder coordination.
“We have taken constructive feedback seriously and are implementing practical solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of this year’s fair.Tangible improvements are underway to ensure a seamless experience for both exhibitors and visitors,” said Dr. Ndebele.
City-wide efforts were complementing the exhibition rollout. The City of Bulawayo has embarked on a facelift campaign, targeting roads, public spaces, and key infrastructure to enhance the overall appeal of the host city.
Security forces have been deployed and are maintaining visibility to ensure the safety of all participants during the fair.
Meanwhile, the tourism and hospitality sectors have launched an extended accommodation programme.
Temporary hosting licences are being issued to vetted residents to help address accommodation demand and increase lodging options for visitors.
The fire brigade has also confirmed operational readiness, with safety protocols already in place to ensure a secure environment throughout the show period.
Meanwhile, ZITF 2025 is actively redefining the role of trade showcases in economic development, with a bold focus on youth-driven innovation, business facilitation, and inclusive growth.
This year’s edition is expected to attract a diverse range of local and international exhibitors, reinforcing Zimbabwe’s position as a hub for trade, entrepreneurship, and investment.
