ZANU PF showcased its readiness to reclaim the Mt Pleasant parliamentary seat at a mobilisation meeting held in the constituency yesterday.
The gathering brought together ZANU PF's Harare provincial leadership and local Party members, intensifying campaign efforts ahead of the critical vote.
During the meeting, Politburo member Senator Charles Tawengwa reinforced the Party's commitment to unity and strategic campaigning.
"We are carrying the same message where we meet our mobilisation teams and give each other direction and our campaign strategy ahead of the elections. We are determined to reclaim this seat in the upcoming by-elections," Cde Tawengwa stated.
Another Politburo member, Cde Tendai Chirau, confidently expressed the Party's position, saying, "We are showcasing that ZANU PF is the revolutionary Party that everyone must vote for, and there is no doubt we are going to win the Mt Pleasant parliamentary seat in the forthcoming by-elections."
This sentiment was echoed by the ZANU PF Harare Provincial Chairman, Cde Godwills Masimirembwa, who declared, "It is all systems go; our structures and direction have been laid out, and we are raring to go. There is no reason for losing."
The Party's candidate for the Mt Pleasant seat, Cde George Mashavave, addressed specific local issues during the meeting, focusing on immediate concerns such as resolving water problems within the constituency.
"We are ready for the elections, and there are various issues that we need to address as soon as possible. We will prioritise issues such as the availability of water and other essential services," Cde Mashavave emphasised.
Meanwhile, Mashavave will square off with independent candidate Naison Mamutse on April 27 in the by-elections.
This electoral battle follows the vacancy left by the resignation of former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) member Fadzai Mahere in February this year.
