Ncube asserts control over CCC Bulawayo structures amidst factional divide

The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) faction led by Professor Welshman Ncube has reportedly firmly established its control over that party's Bulawayo structures.

This development was clearly evidenced at a strategy meeting chaired by Ncube in Bulawayo last weekend, which saw the attendance of numerous key opposition figures.

According to a source who attended the meeting, the gathering was a crucial step forward for the CCC under Ncube's leadership.

"The meeting chaired by Professor Ncube was not just a routine assembly. It was a definitive move to map out the future of the CCC and assert our faction's stance and strength," the source revealed.

The source said that the attendees included CCC acting secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu, Collet Ndhlovu, Kucaca Phulu, Lilian Mlilo, and Linda Sibanda, among other prominent members.

According to the source, the meeting also served as a platform to dismiss the other CCC faction led by Jameson Timba, with members present reiterating that it was merely a "political sideshow" not to be taken seriously.

"The meeting resolved that the days of being puppets under Nelson Chamisa were over. We resolved to be committed to returning the CCC to its foundational principles of constitutionalism," the source added.

The same source said that the overwhelming turnout and the calibre of attendees at the meeting signalled a strong allegiance to Ncube's leadership within the Bulawayo structures.

"Judging from the meeting, it's clear that Timba's faction will find it incredibly difficult to penetrate and take control of the CCC structures here in Bulawayo. The opposition members are now aligning themselves with Ncube's vision," the source elaborated.

Further emphasising the shift in loyalty, the source highlighted the enthusiasm among CCC supporters in Bulawayo for Ncube’s leadership.

"It's evident from the energy in the room that many are ready to follow Professor Ncube’s lead. The turnout was not just a gathering but a declaration of our collective resolve, said the source.

Meanwhile, the meeting concluded with strong declarations of independence from previous leadership dynamics and a unanimous commitment to push forward under Ncube's stewardship
