The Deputy Minister of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion, David Mnangagwa has highlighted that Zimbabwe is on a road to improving the ease of doing business to enable more investors to trickle into the country.

Speaking at the Africa Investment Leaders Forum and Awards (AILFA) stakeholder brief meeting today at the Rainbow Towers Hotel, Minister Mnangagwa indicated that the Government has implemented a number of reforms aimed at promoting investment.

"Our Government has implemented various reforms aimed at improving the business climate and attracting investment, both domestic and foreign.

"We are making great strides in investing in infrastructure, such as roads and transportation networks, to improve connectivity within the country, which we are all aware is key to investors," said the Minister.

The Minister further said that Zimbabwe was strongly participating in regional trade through the implementation of several agreements.

"Further, Zimbabwe is actively participating in regional trade through the implementation of several agreements, such as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), with the potential to expand market access for Zimbabwean products and stimulate economic growth. This will also increase investment opportunities for both local and foreign investors," stated Minister Mnangagwa.

The Minister encouraged Zimbabweans to be innovative and to support small businesses.

"We in Zimbabwe are encouraging innovation through research and development initiatives, supporting startups and small businesses, and providing access to venture capital to foster entrepreneurship and drive economic growth," he said.
