Sensing defeat in the on-going ConCourt election petition, the MDC Alliance have resorted to organising demonstrations and mass action against Government and Zanu PF under the guise of church prayers, pre-empting the ConCourt ruling.
Information gathered by the Harare Post has it on account that former Roman Catholic priest, Father Muchineripi Rungano is on a massive recruitment drive of people to participate in mass action against Government under the guise of conducting prayers ahead of the MDC Alliance ConCourt petition being heard today.
Father Rungano has also been encouraging people not to accept any ruling that is in support of President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the ruling party in the different WhatsApp platforms created to mobilise participants.
“We shall not accept any ruling that does not declare Nelson Chamisa as the winner in the recent elections,” he said.
He added, “Let us reject any ruling favouring Mnangagwa and let’s begin by coming out in numbers to march against Government and pray for the ConCourt petition tomorrow.”
Father Rungano is remembered for having been ejected from the Roman Catholic Church because of his sexual orientation.
The abuse of the church to further political gains can also be seen through the MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa who is flooding social media with messages encouraging citizens to protest against Government under the guise of conducting prayers for the country.
