Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) members continue to lose confidence in Nelson Chamisa whom they accuse of being inept and politically bankrupt.
Yesterday, Chamisa incurred the ire of his supporters when he shared a bible verse on his Twitter handle. The party members reacted by accusing him of being politically inept.
“The wise acknowledge and seek their God. The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt; their ways are vile. God looks down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if any understand, if any seek God. Psalm 53: 1-2 Blessed Sabbath,” tweeted Chamisa.
However, CCC members were not amused and roasted Chamisa on the social media platform. They told him that he was letting the opposition party down by concentrating on sharing bible verses instead of political strategies ahead of this year’s watershed elections.
A Twitter user who uses the name Walle told Chamisa that he should be more politically active instead of sharing bible verses.
“You don't get the work you need to do to win for sure. Masses are like school kids. It is emphasis and repetition of message that will do wonders not bible verses,” said Walle.
Another netizen, Kay Jaricha, told Chamisa that members were now tired of bible verses and demanded Chamisa to provide leadership ahead of this year’s elections.
“We need action now, we have had enough of these verses. By now I would have thought the communication department would have held a press conference expressing the masses' anger. Please lead,” said Jaricha.
Innocent Mbombela told Chamisa that he should desist from posting bible verses on his social media handles as that would deflate the morale of his supporters.
"Bible verses pakadai deflate our morale big time. Inga Jesu akati aona corruption muimba yaMwari akatora chamboko akaruka makororo big time," said Mbombela.
Another Twitter user, Dereck Mlambo said that it was a mistake for people to entrust Chamisa with the leadership of that opposition party as he was politically immature.
Meanwhile, there are reports that a number of CCC members are increasingly aligning themselves with the party’s interim vice president, Tendai Biti whom they want to be that party’s presidential candidate in this year’s plebiscite instead of Chamisa. The party’s headache, however, is the fact that while Biti is an alternative, he is not a unifier and this is likely to lead to another split.
