The chaos in the MDC Alliance continues unabated as reports suggest that co vice president Welshaman Ncube is in the process of reviving his MDC Green/Ncube party as he prepares to contest in the coming 2023 presidential elections and was busy luring MDC Alliance members to join his almost defunct party.
A source who spoke to this publication, said Ncube’s party has gained a considerable ground in Bulawayo as a large number of the MDC Alliance members in that province are believed to be backing Ncube to contest in the next 2023 presidential elections. The source added that some members such as Bulawayo provincial spokesperson, Ernest Rafamoyo, has already crossed to join Ncube’s faction.
“Ncube is a wolf in sheep’s skin. He is hood winking (president) Nelson Chamisa into believing that they are working together but the truth is that he is laying his ground for 2023. Ncube only came to the MDC Alliance so that it will be easy for him to recruit our members to join his MDC Green project. We now hear stories that our provincial secretary Rafamoyo has also joined the MDC Green although he still holds a position in our party,” said the source.
The source added that the relationship between Rafamoyo and the MDC Green came to the fore on Tuesday when members of that party visited him at Mpilo hospital where he is being treated for injuries he sustained after he was beaten by angry youths who accused him of betraying Chamisa to join Ncube’s faction.
“Members of Ncube’s MDC Green visited Rafamoyo at Mpilo hospital while donning their green T shirts inscribed with Ncube’s picture. They donated US$500.00 towards his medical bills. However, the visit by members of the MDC Green asserts and rubber stamps the rumors that Rafamoyo and James Sithole are loyal and sympathetic to Ncube. They don’t have MDC Alliance at heart,” added the source.
The source further said that he felt pity for Chamisa who continues to dine with the enemy Ncube. The source suggested that Chamisa should swiftly expel Ncube and his allies from the MDC Alliance before they cause much harm to that party.
Efforts to get a comment from both Ncube and Rafamoyo were futile as their mobile phones were not reachable.
