Youths from Mashonaland East Province have commended President Emmerson Mnangagwa for steering development in the country.
Speaking on the sidelines of Zanu PF Marondera rally yesterday, Zanu PF Zviyambe North District youth chairman, Itai Ruvanda applauded President Mnangagwa for improving the state of the roads in the country.
"We are grateful that in terms of roads rehabilitation, Government has made a notable progress. Here in Wedza, our Zaire-Chigondo road is being tarred, it is now good. Even in urban areas, Government has taken over the rehabilitation of roads from corrupt MDC councils which have failed to deliver," he said.
He lambasted the old dispensation for its failure to address challenges facing the youth like land issue, youth projects and employment.
"The old dispensation under the leadership of former president Robert Mugabe failed us as most of us are unemployed. We have nothing to do. We need loans to start developmental projects.
"We appeal to our President to assist us with irrigation equipment. We are blessed with mighty Save river. We just need irrigation tools to start working. We also want to start livestock projects, it is our hope that we will also benefit from the command livestock programme," he said.
