“NAC today supported ZPCS with COVID-19 PPE valued at ZW$ 4 million. The PPEs included surgical face masks, protective goggles, disposal gowns, latex gloves, N95 masks. The items were handed over to ZPCS by NAC Chief Executive Officer, Dr Benard Madzima,” NAC tweeted.
Zimbabwe continues to battle against COVID-19, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has said, “As of COVID-19 update, as at 5 October 2020, Zimbabwe had 7 898 confirmed cases, including 6 424 recoveries and 228 deaths.”
A glimpse at the cases of COVID-19 shows that new COVID-19 cases are on the rise. This spells out the need to continue following the regulations and staying safe from infection.
This publication has learnt that NAC is an organization established through an Act of Parliament of 1999 to coordinate and facilitate the national multi-sectorial response to HIV and AIDS. It is also mandated to administer the National AIDS Trust Fund (NATF) collected through the AIDS Levy i.e. the 3% collected from every workers taxable income (PAYE) and corporate tax.
It’s vision is for Zimbabwe to be free from HIV infections, stigma and AIDS related deaths by 2030.
