ZANU-PF structures in Harare Province have started serious preparations for the forthcoming harmonised elections with the Asian community of Belvedere hailing the party for remembering them.
Belvedere community convened a meeting which was graced by Vice President, Constatino Chiwenga and aspiring candidate William Muponda.
Addressing hundreds of party supporters at Belvedere Teachers College, Vice President, Chiwenga assured the community that the party would make sure all their needs are addressed.
“Vote for Zanu PF councilor, National House of Assembly member and the President so that that there is smooth flow of party programmes,” said Vice President Chiwenga
He assured residents that car sales which have mushroomed in every open space is going to be a thing of the past as the space will serve its purpose of recreational facilities and intended use by the planning authorities.
“I know you have two primary schools and no secondary school, a situation which has led to the proliferation of unregistered private schools,” said the V P.
He said on that vain, the Government was committed to building more secondary schools so that pupils in the area were not left at the mercy of private schools which often were not concerned about the moral uprightness of the child but money only.
He said the Zanu PF led Government, when given a fresh mandate on 30 July, would make sure that the area towards Harare Institute of Technology which had become synonymous with crime, has recreational facility for the kids in the area.
The Vice President said Zanu PF was a tried-and-tested party and that should be demonstrated through winning the coming elections.
Mrs Abudul Karim who resides in Belvedere said, “I am grateful that the Vice President has spared a day to be with us.”
Ward five Councillor, Abdurraman Sapa, said “Zanu PF is definitely going to win the seat as its policies have led them to venture into various businesses.”
A business mogul who owns one of the biggest wholesalers and retail shops in South Avenue area in Harare, Mohammad Mussa heaped praises on Zanu PF led government.
“It is high time that we reassert our dominance in business as an Asian Community that we love Zanu PF,” said Mussa.
He said we could not continue to lose parliamentary seats to the corrupt MDC-T, a party that was characterized by poor service delivery and fattening the pockets of the council officials.
He said the community had a rich political history that had produced such cadre as Senator Kantibai Patel who was buried at the National Shrine
