Corruption in the MDC led councils with specific reference to Harare City Council has been castigated by Vice President

Constantine Chiwenga, as he urged ZANU PF supporters to rally behind and vote for ZANU PF candidates.

Addressing supporters at rallies held at Belvedere Teachers College and at Mabelreign shopping centre, Vice President Chiwenga castigated the high levels of corruption in MDC led Councils and advised residents to get rid of the corrupt elements.

“MDC led councils are corruptly allocating residential stands to desperate home seekers and parcelling out land intended for other uses and earmarking it for something totally different…We must not allow corruption to destroy our beautiful nation. We must get rid of corrupt elements in our communities,” he said.

Vice President Chiwenga encouraged the electorate to vote for Councillors who are accountable, capable and competent.

“Put into office a council that is accountable and can effectively plan the city…I therefore urge the electorate to vote for competent and capable ZANU PF councillors,” he said.

The Vice President said that the nation needed responsible council workers.

“We want responsible City fathers, Mayors and Councillors, so go and vote for ZANU PF candidates,” he said.
