The Ministry of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality is holding the Post Twenty Fifth Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework convention on climate change stakeholders workshop at Rainbow Towers Hotel in Harare.
The Ministry shared the information on its Twitter handle saying, “Post Twenty-fifth Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (Post COP25) Stakeholders Workshop is currently underway at Rainbow Towers Hotel in Harare.”
The Ministry also revealed that the Government made great strides in gender and climate change issues and adopted a new five year Gender Action Plan.
“COP25 initiated discussions on so called 'stranded assets ' on the African Continent. The greatest progress at COP25 was in the area of gender and climate change. Governments expressed willingness to promote gender equality and equity by adopting a new 5-year Gender Action Plan,” publicised the Ministry.
The five year Gender Action Plan seeks to consolidate the first plan and will aim to address the many concerns raised by women and gender groups.
“The Gender Action Plan that progressively builds upon the first plan, and works to address many of concerns raised by women and gender groups at the UNFCCC. The new plan places greater focus on implementation and scaling up gender-just climate solutions,” said the Ministry.
