Government has dismissed allegations of an online publication that is circulating on social media indicating its displeasure over the launch of an album by Wallace Winky D Chirumiko titled njema.

Tweeting on its tweeter handle, Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services advised members of the media to first verify with the Ministry for accurate facts.

“We have noted an article on an online publication making a false claim that Government has banned one of our local artists from being interviewed on national radio. These are unfounded falsehoods. Members of the media are advised to fact-check with us on related matters,” said the Ministry of Information.

Part of the article reads, “We write to you to register our displeasure over the launch of an album by Wallace Winky D Chirumiko titled njema.”

Chirumiko is set to launch the album today at Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).The album consists of six tracks which are all loaded with political lyrics.
